We understand how important it is that your final wishes are respected. We also understand that when the time comes, a pre-planned funeral alleviates a significant emotional and financial burden from your family, allowing them valuable time and space to grieve.
To support you to make arrangements for your own funeral in advance, Corless Funeral Services has established a practical and risk-free pre-paid funeral option to suit your needs.
To help you pre-plan your funeral according to your wishes, we will meet with you to discuss your needs in confidence, either in your own home, at our offices, or via the telephone. You will have the opportunity to consider: • where you will be reposed • how you should be dressed • the type of coffin or urn you desire • transport to and from the service for your family • the location of your service • the music that should be played • floral tributes • your chosen cemetery or crematorium • the content for newspaper notices, and • any church offerings or gratuities.
Once we have received your instructions, you will receive a written proposal for your own funeral arrangements. This proposal will include the cost of the funeral at current prices. You should give a copy of this proposal to the executor of your will, a relative or even a good friend for safe keeping.
To confirm your arrangements and secure your pre-planned funeral, you should lodge the quoted amount in an interest-bearing deposit account at your chosen bank, building society or post office. You should advise the Manager that the purpose of the account is to pay for your funeral expenses. When the time comes, Corless Funeral Services Galway will carry out your wishes as you specified in your plan and forward the account to your nominated bank/building society/post office. They will then forward us a bank draft to cover the cost of your funeral from the funds held in your deposit account.
The direct cost of the funeral will not change considerably from the price agreed with you at the time of confirming your funeral arrangements. However, the cost of payments that we make on your behalf that are outside our control such as newspaper notices, organists and flowers may increase. To ensure there are enough funds in your account to cover your funeral expenses, please call us at the beginning of each successive year to check any price increases from the previous twelve months. This will give you the opportunity to top up your deposit account should it be needed.
We accept a variety of payment methods, including all major credit cards:
- Visa
- Master Card
- American Express
- Union Pay
- Diners Club
- Discover
- Gpay
- Apple Pay
